Pictured is a Rinnai Energysaver in it’s smallest size, however we also service many old heaters like the Vulcan Heritage and the Rinnai 2001 and Spectrum models, all of which feature panels at the back which glow red when the lovely blue flame lights up. If your flame is red, or sooty – you need a service because you’re wasting $$ on gas!

The slim-line tall one pictured is a Braemar unit, who also make a short unit for small areas, but there are a couple far more common in Adelaide. Yes, there is. A service is a regular inspection and cleaning of your gas heater that ensures safety, efficiency and durability, in the same way as a service for a car does.

On the other hand, a repair occurs when your gas heater has either stopped working or isn’t working as well as it should.

If you have a gas heater issue but would also like a service carried out, this can sometimes take not much longer to do, depending on how long ago your last service was. Just make sure that you let us know beforehand so that the technician is well prepared.

How often should I have my gas heater serviced?

Every year or two years at the very least.  Regular servicing will keep your gas heater in tip-top condition, making it safe, efficient to run, and less likely to break down when you need it most.

What types of gas heaters do you service?

At Patrick Thermal, we service all kinds of gas heaters.  The only exceptions are ducted gas heating systems and flueless heaters.  But other than that, if you have it, we’ll service it!

What is carbon monoxide poisoning?

Carbon monoxide is a colourless, odourless gas which can cause serious health issues upon exposure. Carbon monoxide is in exhaust fumes from cars, and trucks, in cigarette smoke, smoke from wood fires, and from poorly operating gas fires.

Do I need a negative pressure test during my gas heater service?

The simple answer is yes. It’s essential to check your carbon monoxide exposure levels during normal heating use and in any home situation where exhaust fans are on, and doors and windows are closed. Different types of heaters need to be tested in different ways, so you’ll need an expert in the field to perform your test.
